The meaning of Self-Confidence:
A feeling of trust in one’s abilities, qualities, and judgement.

Self-Confidence is something that can make or break us.

It is something that we need to succeed in every area of our lives.
It is something that makes it possible to walk into any situation in life and feel good about yourself.

If you lack it…….. stronger (actually weaker), not such nice people, prey on you.
You become a target for them.

A lot of people go through stages in life where they do not want to go out, they want to stay indoors and hide away as they do not feel good enough, pretty enough, intelligent enough, thin enough etc.
They don’t like the way they look or feel and do not want to be judged by others.
Most of the time we are our own worst enemy and judge ourselves the most.

Confidence affects how we live our lives and the choices we make.
If we are not feeling good about ourselves and our abilities, we will miss out on a lot of opportunities in life.
It stops us from achieving our dreams due to self-doubt.
It stops us from forming great long-lasting relationships in every area of our lives.

Lacking Self-Confidence can also lead to these obstacles below in Young Ladies:

” Poor academic performance
” Teen pregnancy
” Dropping out of school
” Earlier sexual activity
” Criminal Behaviour
” Alcohol and drug abuse
” Cutting
” Disordered eating

Luckily Self-Confidence is a state of mind and a Life Skill that can be learnt by using certain techniques and exercises.

A tip I can give to you for a great start to improve your Self-Confidence is to challenge your thought pattern about yourself. Every time you have a negative thought about yourself remind yourself of at least 1 positive trait you like about yourself. Also have the patience to keep practicing Self-Confidence exercises as it takes time to retrain your brain.

The biggest tip is not to rely on others to make you feel good about yourself.
